The following are just some of the numerous lies that came out of the sinful mouth of Defensor:
1. In 2000, Mike denied he was interceding on behalf of four prostitutes who were arrested and detained for vagrancy. But one of them had the young (and corrupt) congressman’s b-card. Calls were made and the policemen claimed Defensor asked them to release the four women.
After three days, he admitted to having spoken with the policemen.

2. In 2003, Defensor claimed that the rescue of Udong Mahusay, the star witness in the Jose Pidal money laundering scandal, was done in his personal capacity, but with the help of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) and an Air Force helicopter.

3. After a shameful defeat in the 2007 senate race, Defensor conceded and uttered the following in a press conference (addressing himself in the third person):
“I am saddened that he would not be part of the 14th Congress. My unsolicited advice to him is to reinvent himself, show his independence from President Arroyo. He deserves to be seen as more than an apologist of the President.”
But after a year, he accepted the following posts given to him by Arroyo: as head of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport International Passenger Terminal 3 (NAIA-3) (June 19, 2008) and as acting chairman of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) (October 9, 2008).

4. After filing a perjury case against Lozada and subsequently withdrawing the same, Defensor said: “Cerge Remonde called me up last Saturday, and Gabby Claudio called me up on Sunday. Cerge again called on Monday evening. They asked me to withdraw the case, because the Lozada issue was dead but is being revived.”
But Claudio said, “never advised (Defensor) on any particular course of action.” While Remonde on his part said: “I just asked about his take on it. But it was not meant to impose on him.”

5. During the senate hearing on Defensor’s involvement in the alleged kidnapping of Jun Lozada, the latter said that Defensor told him to “deny mo na lang na kinidnap ka.” To which Mike replied: “Wala akong hininging kondisyon, wala ako sayong hininging denial, wala akong pinapagawa…”
Then later in the hearing, the liar said: “Pare, mag-presscon ka na, I-DENY mo ‘tong nangyari.” Senator Roxas asked Defensor: “So in short, hindi mo dini-deny na sinabi mo kay Engr. Lozada, ‘pare magpa-presscon ka i-deny mo lang na nakidnap ka?” Defensor said: “OPO, SINABI KO PO SA KANYA YUN.”

6. Asked to comment on the authenticity of the Hello Garci tapes, Defensor delivered one of the classic examples of self-contradicting statements:
“That was her voice but she was not the one doing the talking”
